Frequently asked questions about Food&Service POS
Everything you need to know about our POS software for hospitality
It is 100% proprietary to Food&Service, natively integrated into the POS. Unlike other systems that depend on external platforms like TheFork or CoverManager, our reservation module is fully integrated. This means reservation, order, and customer information is unified in one place, with no per-cover commissions or external dependencies.
Your customers can book through your own branded custom reservation website, from your Google profile, social media, or by phone (you enter the reservation manually). The reservation link is yours and you can share it wherever you want.
When your restaurant is full, customers can sign up for the waitlist. If a table becomes free or there is a cancellation, the system automatically notifies the next customer on the list. This allows you to maximize occupancy and not lose potential customers.
You have a complete profile for each customer including: booking history, order history, average spend, no-show percentage, preferences, and special notes. Being integrated with the POS, all this information automatically syncs with every order and reservation.
An integrated system gives you a complete view of each customer: not just their bookings, but also what they order, how much they spend, and how often they come. External reservation systems do not have access to this information. Also, as it is native, you don't pay per-cover commissions, you don't depend on third parties, and the data is 100% yours.

Fill your dining room and reduce no-shows with your own reservation book
An empty table that was reserved and never occupied is lost money that isn’t coming back. No-shows, overlaps, and reservations jotted down in a notebook that only the person who wrote it can understand are daily problems in many restaurants. A digital reservation book turns that chaos into an organized system that optimizes occupancy and keeps your customers informed.
Food&Service integrates online and phone reservation management in one place, synchronized with the reality of your dining room. Your customers reserve whenever they want, the system confirms and reminds them on its own, and you work with a schedule that reflects real availability, without double bookings or poorly utilized slots.
Your own reservation website, open 24/7
Your customers book from a dedicated page customized with your brand, available at any time of day. You can share that link on your Google profile, social media, or website, and even receive reservations directly from Google thanks to the integration. The table is booked without anyone having to pick up the phone.
This expands your capture window: many reservations are made outside the hours when someone is available to answer the phone, just when the customer decides to go out for dinner. Having the book open 24 hours a day means capturing those reservations that would otherwise be lost or end up at the restaurant next door.
Automatic reminders to combat no-shows
The system sends automatic confirmations and reminders via SMS and email to every customer who reserves. This simple notification significantly reduces no-shows because it reminds the customer of their commitment and gives them the opportunity to cancel in time if they can't make it, freeing up the table for someone else.
Fewer no-shows translate directly into more effective occupancy and fewer reserved tables that remain empty during peak hours. Automated communication also improves customer perception, as they feel taken care of before even walking through the restaurant door.
Waiting lists and visual table assignment
When the restaurant is full, customers can sign up for a smart waiting list. If a cancellation occurs, the system notifies them automatically, so you fill the gaps that previously stayed empty without having to stay by the phone or call everyone one by one.
Table assignment is supported by a visual availability map that shows you what is free and what is committed in each time slot. This way, you distribute shifts better, avoid overlaps, and make the most of every service, adjusting occupancy to the actual capacity of the room.
A unified customer profile with their entire history
Each customer has their own profile with a history of previous reservations and visits, their orders, their average spend, and their preferences. This information is automatically synchronized with the rest of the system, so you know who is going to sit at your table before they even arrive and can offer a more personal touch.
This is the advantage of having reservations integrated into the POS rather than in an isolated third-party tool: the reservation, consumption, and preferences live in the same database. You leverage that data to build loyalty, win back customers, and make decisions, instead of handing it over to an external platform that keeps the relationship.
