A Gstock alternative: stock without another program.
Gstock describes itself as a purchasing and operations platform for hospitality and retail: supplier orders, inventory, recipe costing, waste and production, connected to the POS you already use. In Food&Service, inventory with recipe costing, expenses with AI and Glovo and Uber Eats orders are in the same program you take payments with. Here are the differences, with the source of every fact.

In short
- Gstock is a purchasing and inventory platform that works with your POS sales; Food&Service is the POS, with inventory and recipe costing built in.
- With Gstock, the POS link comes with the Premium and Premium + Ventas plans, and with it come theoretical consumption and actual versus theoretical cost. With Food&Service, each sale deducts the ingredients in its recipe within the same program, Glovo and Uber Eats orders included.
- Gstock covers more of a group's purchasing cycle: supplier orders suggested from stock levels, transfers between venues, production for central kitchens and connectors with accounting software. Food&Service focuses on each venue: what arrives goes into stock when you approve the delivery note, and the cost of each dish updates on its own.
- Gstock is paid with a monthly fee based on the plan and the number of venues, with a 14-day free trial and no minimum term, according to its website; the POS is extra. Food&Service is one plan tailored to your venue, with no minimum term and the final price in the demo.
Gstock and Food&Service, point by point
What each one does, according to what it publishes. The Gstock data comes from its website, with the number of each source; the Food&Service data is what our POS does today.
| What we compare | Food&Service | Gstock |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | All-in-one cloud POS for hospitality: floor, handheld ordering, kitchen, QR menu, orders, bookings, stock, expenses and invoicing in one program. | Cloud platform for purchasing and operations in hospitality and retail: orders, inventory, recipe costing, waste, production and cost reports, according to its website.12 |
| How you pay | One plan tailored to your venue, with no minimum term. We give you the final price in the demo. | Monthly fee based on the plan (Zero, One, Premium or Premium + Ventas) and the number of venues, with a quote in the demo. No minimum term and a 14-day free trial, according to its website.3245 |
| Supplier purchasing | Goods receiving: when you approve the delivery note or invoice, each product goes into stock with its quantity and price. | Orders from the web or the app, suggested from minimum and ideal stock, with limits per supplier, full or partial receiving and price history.67 |
| Supplier delivery notes and invoices | Expenses with AI: you take a photo of the invoice, the AI reads it, matches it with the delivery note and the cost of your dishes updates. | Delivery notes and invoicing from the Zero plan. Reading delivery notes with OCR is an add-on.28 |
| Recipe costing | Recipe costing based on the average cost of your purchases: you see what each dish costs you, what it leaves you and its food cost. If a supplier raises a price, it recalculates when you approve the purchase. | Each recipe links its ingredients to their current cost, and the margin is recalculated when a purchase price changes; recipe costing comes from the One plan. With sub-recipes, allergens and profitability simulation.9210 |
| Stock | Goes down with every sale, Glovo and Uber Eats orders included. When a product runs out, the dish is withdrawn on its own from the POS, the QR menu and delivery orders. | Real-time stock that goes down with your POS sales, with storerooms and locations per site, transfers, and minimum and ideal stock.4 |
| Stocktakes and waste | Stocktakes from your phone, by area and in boxes or kilos. When you close one, you see the value of what's missing or left over, with waste kept apart from what simply wasn't recorded. | Stocktakes from the app by scanning EAN/SKU codes, with scales over wifi or Bluetooth. Waste with your own categories and analysis by product, recipe and sub-recipe.411 |
| Cost reports | Traffic-light view of food cost, staff cost and prime cost, and a daily stock summary by email. | Actual and theoretical cost, stock variance and supplier price trends. Theoretical cost and stock variance come from the Premium plan.122 |
| Several venues | Each venue with its own account and its cash-up report by email. We set up the multi-venue dashboard with you. | Built for several sites: all venues from head office, in a single dashboard, with transfers between venues.314 |
| Accounting | It isn't accounting software: it organises your purchases and gives you a ZIP with the originals and an Excel file for your accountant. | Syncs purchases with your accounting software. Its website lists connectors with Business Central, Holded, Contasol, Sage 200 C, SAP and A3 ERP.1314 |
| Devices and users | No limit: the POS and handheld ordering on every phone, tablet and computer you need, for the same fee. | In the cloud, on any device with internet, and with an app for iOS and Android. Unlimited users at no extra cost.43 |
| POS, handheld ordering and kitchen | In the same program: floor, handheld ordering on any phone, kitchen display, payments, cash-up and invoices. | Connects to the POS you use, which sends it the sales. Its website says: “What isn't recorded in the POS, Gstock doesn't take into account.” The POS link comes with the Premium and Premium + Ventas plans.14152 |
| Delivery platforms | Glovo and Uber Eats connected to the POS: their orders go to the kitchen and deduct stock like any other sale. | For dark kitchens, its website says it connects with the main delivery operators and brings their sales into inventory.16 |
| VeriFactu and TicketBAI | Included: each invoice goes to the tax authorities on its own once you turn sending on. Responsible statement published. | According to its website, with Gstock you comply with traceability, allergen and food waste rules “and also with Verifactu”.1 |
| Support | Every day from 9:00 to 24:00, by phone and WhatsApp. Setup is guided and remote. | Its FAQ mentions onboarding of 1 to 2 weeks, depending on complexity, and Customer Success with ongoing training. A self-service help base, open 24 hours a day.917 |

- Stock goes down with POS sales.
- They read supplier delivery notes and invoices so you don't have to type them in.

How they differ
- The POS link, depending on the planWith Gstock, the POS link comes with the Premium and Premium + Ventas plans, and its website says: “What isn't recorded in the POS, Gstock doesn't take into account.” With Food&Service there's nothing to link: the POS is the same program, and each sale and each Glovo or Uber Eats order deducts its ingredients straight away.
- Group purchasing or the venue's daily workGstock is built for several sites: supplier orders suggested from stock levels, transfers between venues, production for central kitchens and sales between cost centres. Food&Service focuses on what happens in each venue: what arrives goes into stock when you approve the delivery note or invoice, and the cost of each dish updates on its own.
- Theoretical cost or up-to-date food costFrom its Premium plan, Gstock compares actual with theoretical cost and reports stock variance; it also tracks supplier price trends. Food&Service gives you a traffic-light view of food cost, staff cost and prime cost, and when you close each stocktake you see the value of what's missing, with waste kept apart.
- Reading delivery notes: an add-on or part of the POSWith Gstock, reading delivery notes with OCR is an add-on to its plans. With Food&Service, expenses with AI are part of the POS: you take a photo or forward the PDF, check what was read next to the paper and, once you approve it, stock and the cost of your dishes update.

Questions about Gstock and Food&Service.
Another question? Write to us
Is Food&Service an alternative to Gstock?
Yes, if you want to manage your venue's stock and recipe costing without a separate program. Food&Service is a POS with inventory and recipe costing, expenses with AI and Glovo and Uber Eats orders built in. Gstock is a purchasing and inventory platform that connects to your POS and also covers supplier orders, production for central kitchens and the link with your accounting software.
Which POS systems does Gstock integrate with?
Its integrations page lists the POS systems it connects to, such as Ágora, Revo, Simphony or Square, and its FAQ says that, if yours is another one, they usually connect via API or CSV. The POS link comes with its Premium and Premium + Ventas plans, and its website says that what isn't recorded in the POS, Gstock doesn't take into account. With Food&Service there's nothing to integrate: inventory is inside the POS.
How much does Food&Service cost compared with Gstock?
Gstock is paid with a monthly fee that depends on the plan (Zero, One, Premium or Premium + Ventas) and the number of venues, with a quote in its demo; according to its website, there's no minimum term and you can try it free for 14 days. On top of that comes whatever you pay for your POS. Food&Service has one plan tailored to your venue, with no minimum term, and we give you the final price in the demo, free and with no commitment. To compare properly, add up what you pay today for your POS and for Gstock.
Does Food&Service read delivery notes, like Gstock's OCR?
Yes, with expenses with AI, which are part of the POS. You upload the photo or PDF, forward it by email or send it by WhatsApp from an authorised phone, and the AI picks out the supplier, number, date and each line with its quantity, price and VAT. Nothing counts until you approve it; once approved, it's matched with the delivery note, and stock and the cost of your dishes update. With Gstock, OCR for delivery notes is an add-on to its plans.
Can I do stocktakes from my phone?
With Food&Service, yes: you count by area, in boxes or kilos, and when you close the stocktake you see the value of what's missing or left over, with waste kept apart. The POS and handheld ordering also run on your phone. Gstock has an app for iOS and Android to place orders, receive goods, take stock and record waste, according to its website.
When is Gstock a better fit?
If you have a central kitchen or production kitchen whose output you sell to your venues, a hotel with storerooms and a buffet, or you want to compare actual with theoretical cost across several sites, Gstock has plans and modules for that, according to its website. If what you want is your venue's stock and recipe costing inside the POS you take payments with, Food&Service brings it together in one program.
How do I switch from Gstock to Food&Service?
In the demo we look at how you work and give you the price. Then setup is guided and remote: we configure the menu, tables, printers and users with you, and train your team. You build your recipe costing with a three-step assistant, and purchases go into stock when you approve each delivery note or invoice. If you're leaving both your POS and Gstock, check each contract for the notice period and any minimum term.

Wabi-Sabi Cuina Japonesa
